Shadow Dungeon Loot Filter and Auto Pickup
How 1.0 actually reduces ground clutter — sprites, salvage, sort — without a fake checkbox table.
Players search Shadow Dungeon loot filter because other ARPGs ship a named pickup filter with rarity ticks. Steam discussions on app 4423580 were still asking for a clearer filter in launch week, next to threads about stash search and auto-cast. This page answers that search with published 1.0 systems, not with a screenshot of checkboxes OO Cat never posted in Steam news.
Version 1.0 (August 26, 2026) documented Treasure Sprites that pick up equipment, salvage unwanted equipment into gold, carry unique effects, and pass through walls to fetch stuck drops. Patch 1.0.1 (August 27) fixed fairy auto salvage and increased fairy movement speed, and separately fixed the one-click backpack sorting hotkey. Those three lines are the official quality-of-life stack. If a later options menu in your client shows extra pickup rules, use that menu — this wiki will not invent rarity sliders or a “hide whites” default key.
The game is single-player. There is no microtransaction bag or filter pass. Drops follow the map, not your character level. Filtering junk on an early dungeon does not change what a later hell map can roll.
What Steam actually shipped as a filter
The 1.0 announcement Complete Official Version Content does not title a feature “Loot Filter.” It titles Treasure Sprites. The salvage sentence is the filter: unwanted gear becomes gold instead of filling quest-unlocked bag pages and the unlimited-page warehouse. Different sprites have unique effects; OO Cat did not publish those effects in the news post. Read the in-game sprite panel.
Auto salvage failing at launch is why 1.0.1 exists. If your fairy followed you but never converted junk, update before you assume the game has no filter. Speed was increased in the same patch so retrieval and salvage keep up on dense maps.
Sprites are not a paid pet and not the future Mercenary system. Details: Treasure Sprites. Inventory paging (mouse and L1/R1) and the sort hotkey: Inventory and Stash. Confirm the sort bind in settings; this wiki will not invent the default key.
What to salvage versus keep
Keep pieces with weapon-granted skills (1.0 cites about 2,400, including auras, trap launchers, skill conversions, projectile-blocking shields, combo launchers, and summon accessories) and armor set progress (15 sets per class, many affixes that alter skill forms). Keep rift currencies after the story: Talent Skill Runes, Equipment Skill Runes, Attribute Runes, Socketing Stones, Super Enhancement Stones, Essence Stones, Permanent Magic Stones, Golden Hammer, and Divine Mirror (Runes and Enhancement). Sprites are described as salvaging unwanted equipment, not as a rune sink.
Salvage bases with no skill grant and no set progress. Gold from salvage feeds the store-listed Reforging, Enchanting & Enhancement loop (Reforging). There are no codes that add bag slots (Codes).
Steam threads also ask for stash search. Official 1.0 notes cover extra pages from quests and an unlimited warehouse, plus sort. They do not publish a search box. If your client has one, use it; if not, sort and page with L1/R1 rather than waiting on a fan patch note.
Map-tied drops and why a filter still matters
Monster levels and item drops are tied to the map. Grinding a low map will not make a later map drop higher loot, and it will not make that later map weaker. A filter (sprite salvage) is for speed on the map you are actually clearing, not for manufacturing endgame bases in chapter one. See Leveling and Farming.
After the story, Greater Rifts (Normal / Master / Nightmare / Inferno) raise rare odds and let weapons roll more affixes. Floors get noisier. Let sprites work so you can read weapon affixes in town instead of standing in Inferno packs. Mystic Dungeon Challenges remain a separately listed store name; do not assume a unique mystic-only filter unless the client shows one.
Input while loot is flying
1.0 combat expects mouse movement or controller auto-target and auto-attack. One button uses all buff potions. You should not stop a pack to click every white if a sprite can pick it up. Controller hitching and unrecognized pads were 1.0.1 fixes — update if pickup feels like a frame-time problem. Combat and Controls stay next to this page.
Steam Deck: inventory X drops; storage X stashes; shop X sells. Sort after a dense boss so skill grants are visible.
Community asks this wiki will not invent
Launch-week Steam threads include loot filter, elemental reforge, Arcane Stones, a fourth talent-tree row, Paladin balance rumors, and a community Discord. This wiki lists Steam Community and OO Cat’s YouTube and X as official channels. It will not paste an unofficial Discord invite as if it were a store feature. For stones, see runes. For tree rows, see Talent Trees. For Paladin/Holy Warrior, 1.0.1 is a bug-fix list, not a published melee nerf (Holy Warrior).
Watch campaign loot density in chapter footage such as the Chapter 3 Necromancer run — that is play, not a patch note. Then come back to sprites and sort.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.
Does Shadow Dungeon have a loot filter?
Steam news does not title a Loot Filter feature. Treasure Sprites salvage unwanted equipment into gold, 1.0.1 fixed auto salvage, and a one-click backpack sort hotkey was repaired. Check the in-game options if your client shows extra pickup rules.
Why did auto pickup or salvage fail at launch?
Patch 1.0.1 fixed fairy auto salvage and increased fairy movement speed. Update to 1.0.1 before assuming sprites cannot filter junk.
Should I salvage Greater Rift runes with a sprite?
Sprites salvage unwanted equipment into gold. Rift-exclusive runes and named stones are a separate 1.0 list. Store them until you know the live upgrade UI.
Is there a stash search box?
Official 1.0 notes describe quest-unlocked pages, an unlimited warehouse, L1/R1 paging, and a sort hotkey. They do not publish a search field. Use whatever the client shows.
Will a loot filter make early maps drop endgame gear?
No. Drops follow the map, not your filter settings. Salvage is speed on the current map. Play later maps and Greater Rifts for later tables.
