Shadow Dungeon 1.0 Launch Content

What OO Cat shipped in the Complete Official Version Content announcement.

Last updated:

1.0 Launch Content

Shadow Dungeon 1.0 launched on Steam on August 26, 2026 as a single-player action RPG by OO Cat (app 4423580). Days earlier, on August 21, the developer posted Complete Official Version Content, the authoritative list of what the paid build contains. This page follows that announcement section by section. It is not a recap of demo 0.4.0, and it does not invent chapter titles, boss names, or skill names.

The store page still lists the campaign as seven chapters, four classes (Sorcerer, Holy Warrior, Archer, Necromancer), twelve talent trees, 370+ skills, 160 maps, 60+ bosses, 200+ monsters, 15 armor sets per class, 17 blessing shrines, gems, buff potions, and rare permanent elixirs. Intro pricing at launch is $8.99 USD (10% off $9.99, offer ends September 9, 2026). Steam reviews sit at Very Positive, 88% of 190. There is no co-op, no microtransactions, and no seasonal reset. All announced future systems are free.

For the day-after hotfix, read Patch 1.0.1 Notes. For endgame naming, keep Greater Rifts and Mystic Dungeon on separate pages.

1. Equipment affixes and weapon-granted skills

The announcement opens with a major equipment update: over 1,000 new weapon affixes in five categories — Basic, Special, Negative Effects, Skills, and Summoning Skills. It also lists 2,400 new weapon-granted skills, with example types rather than named abilities: auras, trap launchers, skill conversions, shields that block enemy projectiles, skill combo launchers, summoned-creature accessories, and summoned-creature attacks with additional skills.

That is the official vocabulary. More than half of the 100 million-plus items generated from 3,200 templates are legendary or mythic, and more than half of equipment can include extra skills that synergize with talents. Use the Items Hub when you are evaluating drops; do not expect this page to rank invented affix names.

2. 160 main-story maps and map-tied drops

The full campaign is 160 main story levels (maps and stages) with about 30–50 hours of play. Progression was rebalanced so you reach approximately level 99–100 as you finish the main story. Monster levels and item drops are tied to the map, not the player’s level. Overleveling a low map will not make that map drop high-band gear, and walking a high map underleveled still faces that map’s monsters.

Environments called out in official copy are dungeons, ancient temples, scorching deserts, haunted ruins, realms beyond reality, the depths of hell, and the Demon Lord. This wiki does not invent chapter subtitles beyond those phrases. For a map-by-map tour that stays inside those environments, see the Chapter Walkthrough.

3. Greater Rifts

Greater Rifts unlock after you complete the main story. There are four difficulties: Normal, Master, Nightmare, and Inferno. Higher difficulties raise the chance of rare items, and weapons can roll more affixes. That is the documented post-campaign loop from the 1.0 announcement. The Steam store’s feature list also includes Mystic Dungeon Challenges. Those two names are not treated as identical here; see the Greater Rifts guide for the distinction.

4. Rift-exclusive items

Rifts drop a listed exclusive set: 370 Talent Skill Runes, 6,800 Equipment Skill Runes, 60 Attribute Runes, Socketing Stones, various Super Enhancement Stones, Essence Stones, Permanent Magic Stones, plus Golden Hammer and Divine Mirror. The Runes and Enhancement Stones page keeps that list intact and separates it from the future Rune System on the free roadmap.

5. Armor sets

Each class has 15 different sets with a variety of powerful effects. Most sets include affixes that alter skill forms. No official set names appear in the 1.0 post, so this page will not invent them. Set hunting belongs with the rest of Items after you understand affixes and rifts.

6. Treasure Sprites

Treasure Sprites pick up equipment, salvage unwanted equipment directly into gold, carry unique effects per sprite, and pass through walls to retrieve gear stuck outside collision. Patch 1.0.1 later increased fairy movement speed and fixed auto salvage. Full behavior is on Treasure Sprites.

7. Paragon Talent Tree

Maximum player level is 100. After the cap you unlock Paragon Levels and the Paragon Talent Tree to further enhance attributes. Campaign pacing is meant to land you near 99–100 at story end, so Paragon is the documented post-cap layer, not a substitute for the twelve class trees. See Paragon Talent Tree.

8. Character stats panel

The announcement includes a brand-new character stats panel. OO Cat did not publish a widget-by-widget spec. After 1.0, use that panel as the place to read attributes that Paragon and gear modify.

9. Mouse, controller, and interface

Gameplay improvements in 1.0:

  • Mouse movement for traversal and combat aiming on PC
  • Controller automatic target acquisition and automatic attacks; each skill has its own intelligent targeting behavior
  • One button to use all buff potions
  • Mouse and L1/R1 page switching on inventory, storage, talent tree, and other paged interfaces
  • Customizable mouse cursor size

Steam Deck received dedicated button configurations: the same face button changes meaning by panel. With inventory open, X drops an item; in a shop, X sells; in storage, X sends an item to storage; on the skill panel, X fully upgrades the selected skill. When adding skill points, A adds 1 point, X maxes the skill, and Y maxes the skill and all of its sub-skills. Deck notes also mention increased font size. Combat habits are covered in the Combat deep dive and Controls and Settings.

10–13. Performance, Steam Deck maps, DPS Tester, lighting

Performance: visual-effect particles were reduced by 60%, with frame rates improved by approximately 40%.

Steam Deck maps: many maps were scaled down and some environmental objects were removed to improve frame rates, on top of the button configs and fonts.

DPS Tester: it can attack the player and trigger counterattack skills that activate when the player is hit. Use it to verify on-hit and retaliate effects without guessing in a live rift.

Lighting and textures: global lighting controls; torch lighting dimmed; the gap between bright and dark areas reduced; ground contrast reduced to help eye strain.

Inventory remains a quest-unlocked extra-page backpack plus an unlimited-page warehouse. Blessing shrines (17), gems, buff potions, and rare permanent elixirs sit beside reforging, enchanting, and enhancement on the store list.

Roadmap versus 1.0

1.0 does not include the four future classes (Assassin, Engineer, Barbarian, Warlock), Mercenary, Tower Defense, the future Rune System, or Transmutation and Crafting. Those are announced as free follow-ups. Follow OO Cat on YouTube and X, and keep the Updates Hub bookmarked. A review of the shipped 1.0 loop is separate from this changelog.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.

Where did this 1.0 content list come from?

From OO Cat’s Steam announcement Complete Official Version Content (August 21, 2026), plus the Steam store feature list for app 4423580. This page does not add unnamed systems.

Are Greater Rifts the same as Mystic Dungeon Challenges?

The 1.0 announcement documents Greater Rifts as post-story endgame with four difficulties. The store lists Mystic Dungeon Challenges as its own line. This wiki does not treat the names as identical.

When should I reach level 100?

The 1.0 notes say the campaign was rebalanced so you reach about level 99–100 as you finish the main story. Max level is 100, then Paragon Levels and the Paragon Talent Tree.

Do item drops scale with my character level?

No. Monster levels and item drops are tied to the map, not the player’s level, according to the same announcement.

Is the DPS Tester only a dummy?

The official text says the DPS Tester can attack the player and trigger counterattack skills that fire when you are hit, so it is also a way to test on-hit retaliation.

What did 1.0.1 add on top of this list?

Bug fixes and extra resolutions the next day. It did not replace Greater Rifts, sprites, or Paragon. Read the Patch 1.0.1 notes for the full hotfix list.
