Shadow Dungeon Paragon Talent Tree
Level 100 is the cap; Paragon is the documented attribute layer after the story.
In the full release of Shadow Dungeon, maximum player level is 100. After you reach that cap you unlock Paragon Levels and the Paragon Talent Tree, which OO Cat describes as a way to further enhance your attributes. That sentence is the entire published mechanical summary. This page will not invent node names, point caps, or multiplicative formulas.
Paragon sits on top of the launch class system: four classes, twelve talent trees, 370+ skills, and unlimited late-game skill points for hybrid setups. It is not a fifth class. It is not a seasonal board that wipes. It is not a pay wall. The game has no microtransactions and no seasonal resets.
Campaign pacing into the cap
The 1.0 announcement rebalanced 160 main-story maps so a run of about 30–50 hours lands you at approximately level 99–100 as you complete the main story. Monster levels and item drops stay tied to the map, not the player, so you do not “outlevel” a map’s table by rushing Paragon first. Finish the environments the store actually names — dungeons, ancient temples, scorching deserts, haunted ruins, realms beyond reality, depths of hell, the Demon Lord — then expect the cap and Paragon to open as documented.
If experience stopped dropping at launch, that was a bug: patch 1.0.1 fixed experience not being obtainable. You need that hotfix before you trust a leveling plan. Practical story-versus-rift sequencing is in the Leveling guide; first hours and class choice are in Getting Started.
What Paragon is for
Attributes are the official target. The same 1.0 post also added a brand-new character stats panel. Read Paragon results there instead of guessing. Gear still supplies the bulk of power: 1,000+ weapon affixes in five categories, 2,400 weapon-granted skill types, 15 sets per class (most with affixes that alter skill forms), gems, 17 blessing shrines, buff potions, rare permanent elixirs, and reforging, enchanting, and enhancement.
60 Attribute Runes drop as Greater Rift exclusives. They share the word “attribute” with Paragon but are listed under rift-exclusive items, not under the Paragon paragraph. Do not assume they are the same spend. Catalog them on Runes and Enhancement Stones.
Paragon versus the twelve talent trees
Class trees remain the place you buy the 370+ skills. Unlimited late-game skill points mean you can keep investing in those trees after the story; Paragon is an additional tree for attributes past 100, not a replacement. Patch 1.0.1 fixed pinnacle talents not being cleared correctly after respec and transformation skills not allowing points to be allocated correctly. If you respec class trees on the way to Paragon, update first so leftover pinnacle state does not fake a “broken Paragon.”
For allocation philosophy across the twelve trees, use Talent Trees and the Classes and Builds Hub. Class playstyles stay store-simple until future classes ship: Sorcerer (elemental), Holy Warrior (dual blades), Archer (precision), Necromancer (summons). Compare them on the Tier List if you want a snapshot, not a Paragon-only ranking.
Endgame loop around Paragon
After the story, Greater Rifts open with Normal, Master, Nightmare, and Inferno. Higher difficulties improve rare-item chance and extra weapon affixes. That is loot and craft pressure, parallel to Paragon’s attribute pressure. The store also lists Mystic Dungeon Challenges; this wiki does not collapse that name into Greater Rifts. See Mystic Dungeon.
Treasure Sprites keep the ground clear while you grind attributes and affixes. Combat remains real-time with mouse movement or controller auto-target and auto-attack; the DPS Tester can hit you to proc counterattack skills. None of those systems require Paragon, but all of them scale better once you are past the campaign band.
Steam Deck users already have dedicated skill-panel binds: A adds one point, X maxes a skill, Y maxes a skill and its sub-skills. Those binds were documented for the skill panel in 1.0. This page will not invent a unique Paragon-only hotkey.
Future content that is not Paragon
Announced free updates include Assassin, Engineer, Barbarian, Warlock, Mercenary, Tower Defense, a Rune System, and Transmutation & Crafting. The future Rune System is not the Paragon Talent Tree and is not the launch rift rune counts. When those patches land, they will get Updates notes. Until then, Paragon is the 1.0 post-cap attribute tree.
Price and reception do not change the mechanic: $8.99 USD intro (10% off $9.99 through September 9, 2026), Very Positive at 88% of 190 reviews, single-player only. Official talk: Steam, YouTube, X. Full 1.0 checklist: 1.0 Launch Content.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.
When does the Paragon Talent Tree unlock?
After you reach the maximum player level of 100. The 1.0 announcement says you then unlock Paragon Levels and the Paragon Talent Tree to further enhance attributes.
Will I hit 100 before the final chapter?
The campaign was rebalanced so you reach about level 99–100 as you complete the main story across 160 maps in roughly 30–50 hours. Map monster levels still do not scale to you.
Does Paragon replace unlimited skill points?
No. Unlimited late-game skill points still feed the twelve class talent trees and 370+ skills. Paragon is the additional post-cap attribute tree.
Are Attribute Runes the same as Paragon points?
They are documented separately. Attribute Runes are rift-exclusive (60). Paragon is the level-100 tree. This wiki does not merge them without a developer diagram.
Do I need Inferno Greater Rifts to use Paragon?
The announcement does not gate Paragon on Inferno. Greater Rifts are post-story loot difficulties; Paragon is the level cap layer.
Can I respec Paragon freely?
OO Cat did not publish a Paragon-specific respec rule. Class-tree respec had a 1.0.1 fix for pinnacle talents not clearing. Check the live UI after you unlock the tree.
