Shadow Dungeon Talent Trees

Three trees per class, official playstyles only, then Paragon after 100.

Talent Trees Guide

Shadow Dungeon advertises 12 talent trees, four classes, and more than 370 skills. Each class has exactly three trees. Version 1.0 (August 26, 2026) also promises unlimited skill points over a long character — you are not meant to starve forever. After level 100 you unlock Paragon levels and the Paragon Talent Tree for further attributes.

This page will not invent skill product names (no Meteor Strike, Blizzard, Chain Lightning, Blade Flurry, Headshot, Raise Dead, and so on) and will not invent tree brand names (no Inferno, Frost, Storm, Blitz, Longshot, Dominion). Official Steam language is enough: elemental magic, dual blades, precision, demons and skeletons.

Live patch 1.0.1 (August 27) fixed transformation skills not taking points correctly and pinnacle talents not clearing after a respec. So: transformation skills exist, pinnacle talents exist, respec exists. Open those screens in-game for names and numbers.

You cannot spend another class’s trees. Hybrids mean mixing your three trees, then Paragon.

How to spend points in 1.0

  1. Pick the official playstyle you actually want to execute in Combat.
  2. Put early points into one tree until a usable rotation exists.
  3. Open a second tree when the campaign’s map-tied monsters demand a different tool (control vs single target vs army).
  4. Fill remaining nodes over the 30–50 hour story as unlimited points accrue.
  5. At 100, start Paragon instead of inventing a fourth class tree.

Drops and monster levels follow the map (Leveling). A talent point does not downscale hell. Gear, sets (fifteen per class, many altering skill forms), and later runes change how skills behave more than a fan “keystone” name.

Steam Deck: when the skill panel is open, A adds 1 point, X maxes the selected skill, Y maxes the skill and its sub-skills (Controls).

Sorcerer — three trees around elemental magic

The Sorcerer’s three trees all serve elemental magic. In practice you will find nodes that lean toward burning packs, controlling space, or chaining through groups — the client labels them. Do not wait for a wiki to name a meteor. Play the demo or the opening dungeon maps and invest in the element that matches how you already aim.

Ranged caster tax: positioning. Controller auto-target and mouse movement are 1.0 features; use them. Greater Rifts will test whether your chosen element still clears Inferno packs.

Holy Warrior — three trees around dual blades

All three trees support dual-blade melee: faster strings, harder hits, staying alive in the pile. Read the in-game node text. This wiki will not assign unofficial tree titles. If you want a named rotation, it has to come from the client or a future OO Cat video (YouTube).

Melee means you eat map-tied telegraphs. Sets that “alter skill forms” (1.0 notes) are how the class identity stays interesting for 160 maps.

Archer — three trees around precision

Precision is the official word: picking targets, controlling space, sustaining shots. Three trees split those jobs in the client. Launch-week tier list may rank pack-clear behind the Sorcerer; that is not a reason to skip a tree that feels good on bosses.

Necromancer — three trees around demons and skeletons

Official copy: summon demons and skeletons. Three trees will emphasize army size, army strength, and the caster’s own curses or auras — again, use in-game names. Pet pathing is a play reality; 1.0.1’s listed fixes were sprites, XP, controller, UI, and respec, not a published minion-nav manifesto.

Paragon after 100

The Paragon Talent Tree is the documented post-cap layer. It further enhances attributes. It is not a seasonal reset and not MTX. Run it while you climb Greater Rifts (Normal through Inferno).

What not to do

  • Do not follow a guide that lists Meteor Strike as if it were Steam text.
  • Do not plan a “cross-class” tree that eats Archer nodes on a Sorcerer.
  • Do not skip 1.0.1 if respec leaves pinnacle talents stuck.
  • Do not buy a skill-point pass. Unlimited points are already the 1.0 pitch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Shadow Dungeon.

Can I respec my talent points freely in Shadow Dungeon?

Respec exists. Patch 1.0.1 fixed pinnacle talents not clearing correctly after a respec, so update before you trust a reset. You still cannot change class.

What is the most versatile talent tree combination?

Versatility means using all three trees of your class as unlimited points come in, then Paragon after 100. This wiki will not crown unofficial tree brand names.

Are cross-class hybrid builds actually powerful or just a novelty?

You do not take another class's talent trees. Hybrid means mixing your three trees plus later Paragon and runes. That is the 1.0 design, not a novelty.

What should I focus on in the early game versus late game?

Early: one tree until you have a rotation. Mid: a second tree for map-tied problems. Late: fill remaining nodes, then Paragon at 100, then Greater Rift runes.

Is there a cap on how many skills I can learn?

1.0 advertises unlimited skill points for a long character. Transformation skills and pinnacle talents are in the 1.0.1 notes. The practical cap is your time and the three class trees plus Paragon, not a paid slot.
